WELCOME TO YSGOL MAES Y GWENDRAETH
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Ysgol Maes Y Gwendraeth's school website to experience a little of the richness of our learning community in the heart of Carmarthenshire.
Ysgol Maes Y Gwendraeth is a lively, progressive, caring, and welcoming school with a long and excellent tradition of success in many areas, through the medium of Welsh. We are delighted that pupils' opportunities to develop skills and to experience success in the school community, whether that be within individual subjects, extracurricular activities, or in their personal development. We are determined that all our provision should focus clearly on the needs and development of the individual pupil, to ensure that each child receives the best help and support to develop to their full potential.
Ysgol Maes y Gwendraeth was established in 2013 and the school is a Welsh community that bases its work on the basic values of care, mutual respect and honesty.
Teaching and learning are the core of the school's work, and we trust that your child will thrive here with us. We look forward to welcoming you to 'Maes', to appreciate the success of our pupils in academic circles, on the playground, in the literary and artistic mutual respect or in developing ethos and diversity within the school community. At the heart of our activity is the presentation and development of our pupils' linguistic skills, especially fluency and enthusiasm for the Welsh language, which is also evident within the school's motto: "Cyfoeth bywyd addysg". We encourage all pupils to take advantage of these opportunities to enhance their development as healthy and confident individuals who are ready to live their lives to the full as valuable members of society.
In a period of change and exciting development for the school, we look forward to working with you over the next few years to support all Maes Y Gwendraeth pupils in the exciting next steps in their career and future.
A warm welcome to Ysgol Maes Y Gwendraeth
